God bless Yorkshire. The rain started before midday and continued to stay with us throughout the entire event. Almost.
After being pointed in a variety of opposing directions we finally arrived at the event at around 3pm, just in time to catch Chicane doing a fantastic job of getting the crowd going. Umbrellas bounced up and down as those brave enough to face the weather headed towards the stage, some having a good old-fashioned mud fight along the way. Read more »

Greg Holden is a talented musician and photographer who I have known for many years, he is a good friend and during the summer months we spent a few days in Brighton working on the artwork for his first solo album.

Judging by the name of this Dutch band, as well as the predominantly black t-shirted audience, you would be forgiven in thinking Pussycat Kill Kill Kill was a heavy metal affair. However, I was relieved to find that yes they rocked, but also injected a well-judged dosage of folk into the proceedings.
The front “man in black” mirrored the darkly clad crowd and alternated between Dutch and English whilst speaking, though all the songs were in English. His voice was both silky and growling and reminiscent to that of Nick Cave. The singer himself was never dull to watch. Read more »
Smoke & Light Project

I am currently working on several project, one of them being abstract smoke images using nothing more than a few incense sticks, an off camera flash and a black background to shoot against. Focusing the lens on the incense smoke I then uploaded the images to my PC and edited them in Photoshop CS3 to create my desired effect.
If you are attempting to try these images yourself using your own camera and equipment my main advice would be to enjoy the experience – you will find that you end up taking hundreds of images and when you first upload them you may find that you are unhappy with quite a few but don’t delete them straight away, the fun starts when you start to post process the images in Photoshop or another photo editing software. Complete with felt hat, lapels and shades, Amp Fiddler and his entourage arrive onstage and proceed to give us some funk. The musicians and two soulful, smiling, swinging backing singers are all clad in Afro Strut t-shirts, as we later find under his top attire, is Amp Fiddler. Read more »
